Dear Reader,
You are here because of your interest in matters that link (or can link) France and India.
For the benefit of those who have not come here through the LinkedIn network, I add the link to my first discussion, post which, David Zhang, group manager at LaFrance.com, was kind enough to create this forum. This link explains the basic philosophy for initiating this forum:
http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers?viewQuestionAndAnswers=&gid=50373&discussionID=14701419&sik=1267521563364&commentID=12552566&goback=%2Ehom%2Eana_50373_1267521563364_3_1&report%2Esuccess=8ULbKyXO6NDvmoK7o030UNOYGZKrvdhBh ypZ_w8EpQrrQI-BBjkmxwkEOwBjLE28YyDIxcyEO7_TA_giuRN#commentID_125 52566
Briefly we are aiming at two objectives:
1. Give individuals and organisations an open platform for talking about issues they are concerned about, so each of us can benefit from different views (essentially, break the silos of ‘sector-specific’ groups into which we tend to get trapped. So, an hotelier could learn about travelling musicians, a retired bureaucrat/teacher might be able to contribute on India’s new education policy, an elderly tourist might find a welcoming family, and more).
2. Do so with the intent of fostering greater understanding between our two ancient cultures and with a sense of social justice. Businesses cannot succeed without attention to the softer issues, so an open forum lets individuals guide the efforts of organisations, and vice versa.
I trust this forum will be a great breeding ground for ideas, will help foster exchanges at economic, social and cultural levels, and will lead to great meetings and concrete actions.
You may be from any calling or profession, active or retired, an individual or group – if India and France are your two primary concerns as countries, do contribute for the benefit of all, and profit from others’ contributions.
For simplicity’s sake, see if you can lead your discussions with a proper title, marking your area of interest/concern. Do check if there has not already been a comment posted on the issue – it is better to add a comment to a thread, than to restart a discussion; your target readers might have already talked about the matter elsewhere, and that thread would already have followers relevant to you. Also, do add links and connections to other places of interest - that way we can avoid loading too much on these pages (yes, I promise to be more brief in my further posts, too!).
Personally, I shall be sharing this forum through all my networks (LinkedIn, IFCCI, IFAN, fb, email lists, word of mouth), and encourage you to share it with friends having common interests too.
Remember, this is not a sector-specific site, and everybody is welcome to have their say.
Let’s have some great discussions!
Best regards,
Shiv Vasisht
