My wife and I have vacationed in France three times and we always try to find an apartment for the Paris segment, at least.

Hotels are too antiseptic and they're almost always 'downtown', not to mention 'pricey'. Give me an apartment out among the real Parisii anytime. I'll gladly tote my garbage down to the collection bins for the opportunity to meet the neighborhood boulanger and chat with the delivery-person.

Besides, it's the only time my wife will let me go out to breakfast ;-)

French is my mother tongue. I am a travel agent and French tutor.
