FULL-TIME POSITION

Organization:
UBIFRANCE, the French Agency for international business development, is hiring a Trade Advisor for its Food, Wine, & Spirits Department in San Francisco. In this capacity, you will act as a liaison between French companies seeking to export to the United States and American importers/distributors. You will analyze local regulations, inform and advise French companies on market opportunities, identify potential partners in the US, and organize trade missions.
The Food, Wine, & Spirits Department assists French companies entering this market by promoting their products, services and investments. Our primary role is to facilitate contact between American and French companies. We provide relevant information to French firms looking for partnership, investment and export opportunities as well as source products for American businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Providing French companies with information and counsel about the U.S. market and more specifically the U.S. West Coast;
• Assisting French companies in finding new partners / clients in the U.S.;
• Organizing trade missions and seminars in the US to foster commercial collaborations between U.S. / French companies;
• Identifying new business opportunities and market trends;
• Research, information-gathering and content development for publications / articles;
• Networking with importers/distributors, agents, and retail buyers through trade show visits, telephone calls, and company / store visits.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field: economics, international business, or business administration;
• 1-2 years of work experience: sales & marketing a plus;
• Strong communication and networking skills required;
• Knowledge of the French and/or US Agro-Food Industry preferred;
• Bilingual: a good command in both French and English
• Pro-active individual who possesses the ability to take initiative and work independently;
• Team-player, able to integrate, contribute to, lead, and coordinate projects with other members of the Food, Wine, & Spirits team;
• Capacity to multi-task, and high attention-to-detail;
• Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S. as well as to France;
• Excellent word/data processing knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Experience working in a French business environment would be a plus.
Salary: 4150 USD/ month
